Karen has worked within the nonprofit sector for over 10 years and has a varied background in communications and community program development. Karen has a passion for learning and is new to the field of Instructional Design. She is currently working her way through a Certificate of Adult and Continuing Education at the University of Victoria.

Karen brings her keen editor’s eagle eye to her role in performing quality assurance testing for LCL. She has a special interest in Universal Design for Learning and learner and needs analysis. Karen aims to create meaningful learning experiences that are purposeful, accessible and beautiful.

In her spare time, Karen enjoys cooking and baking for her family and friends, gardening and exploring Vancouver Island. She travels back to her home country of Australia with her family as often as life permits!
